About Specialized

Innovate or die. Since 1974.

Mike Sinyard sold his VW bus in 1974 to start Specialized Bicycle Components in Morgan Hill, California. In 1981 they released the Stumpjumper, the first major production mountain bike. The original is in the Smithsonian. Specialized has been pushing the category ever since.

The Tarmac is the most-ridden pro road bike of the modern era. The Aethos is for riders who want lightweight feel over aero numbers. The Roubaix has the Future Shock suspension that makes long cobbled and chunked roads rideable. The Diverge owns the all-road space for Specialized, the Stumpjumper is still the standard for trail MTB, and the Turbo e-bike range is the benchmark for the entire category.

Specialized is the broadest premium lineup we carry. If you want a particular geometry, pricetier, or discipline, Specialized probably has it, and the Retail Specialist network and shared ecosystem (Power saddles, S-Works components, Roval wheels) means everything works together.
